Costa Rica produces some of the best coffee in the world, from the sparking lighter bodied Tres Rios Coffee to the heaver richer bodied Tarazzu Coffees. Many are considered a "classic cup," the traditional balanced coffee that has no defects or taints.. Nearly perfect, well balanced, and very clean tasting.  They are prized for their high notes: bright citrus or berry flavors in the acidity, with distinct nutty-to-chocolate roasted flavors.

Costa Rica has perfect growning conditions for coffee. Bordered on the northern side by Nicaragua and on the eastern side by Panama, It has both a Caribbean and a Pacific coast. A series of volcanic mountain chains runs from Nicaraguan to the Panamanian border, splitting the country in two. In the center of these ranges is a high-altitude plain, called the central valley with coastal lowlands on either side. These are perfect growing conditions for coffee.
